Stray Cat : [1] Eradication Is the Only Solution?

   Recently, hating stray cats related crimes, such as killing the stray cats or assaulting [2] cat moms, are increasing. Stray cats are commonly known cause problems that they disarrange the street, attack people, spread the diseases to humans. Also most people think the act of cat moms that feed the stray cats would lead to increased the number of stray cats.
   Do stray cats and cat moms really cause this problems on the human communities? Should we eradicate stray cats and restrain cat moms activity? In my opinion, eradication of stray cats and restraint of cat moms activity are not the right solutions. First of all, it is a misconception that stray cats cause a lot of problems in human communities. Actually, they are not aggressive to humans. Most stray cats are instinctively cautious about people and afraid of people. Therefore, if you don't approach or pose a threat to them, that does not usually happen. The probability that they carry the disease to people is very low. [3] Ackerman, who is an authority at the UCLA School of Public Health, said that the risk of catching an intestinal parasite like Cryptosporidium and Giardia from cats has been vastly over-hyped. Molecular studies show that these parasites are usually species specific—meaning that the type that infects cats does not infect humans—and some studies even suggest that cats and other animals are more likely to catch these parasites from humans than vice-versa. They rather have a good influence to public health, because they catch mice which are carriers of infectious diseases. [4] According to the result of the study from the Moscow Institute of Ecology and Evolution, urine of cats contain chemicals that control the behavior of the mice. In addition, pregnant rats tend abortion or giving birth to fewer cubs when exposed to cat urine. Second, cat moms behavior does not cause stray cats's problems and the increase in stray cats's population. If they are able to get food stably, there is no reason to scavenge through food garbage for something to eat. Also, it is true that the population of street cats growing little by little, but it is less concerned with feeding. The root causes of the increase in their populations are their high reproductive rate and increasing of abandoned cats. Trap-Neuter-Return, commonly referred to as "TNR," is the only method proven to be humane and effective at controlling feral cat population growth. Using this technique, all the feral cats in a colony are trapped, neutered and then returned to their territory where caretakers provide them with regular food and shelter. [5] According to a study conducted by collecting more than 2000 specimens at the University of Florida, TNR can take a effective result that reduction in the stray cats population.

   For these reasons, we must clear up the misunderstandings about stray cats and cat moms, and should find ways that can coexist with them.

Production and Ownership of Knowledge

   When I posted my writing on my blog at first, I just thought, 'That is troublesome homework'. However, I shared my knowledge and thoughts with others, and I learned a lot of things. For example, if I used my class review ppt just one time and deleted it immediately, maybe the result of my efforts would have disappeared. I realized the benefits gained by sharing knowledge production to others by posting on my blog. Also, I learned about the importance of using proper citation. I realized that using proper citation for the outside source when writing informative posts makes my post more credible.

   In brief, my experience from the blog writing has helped my understanding of knowledge production and knowledge ownership.

1) What has the comments others have posted on my blog taught me about my own writing?

   The comments of others had many benefits to improve my English writing skills. 

   First, I felt pleasure when people read my post, and they agreed with my opinion. Also, it was a good thing that I could see different opinions. Second, I was able to reduce many grammar mistakes that I often made. Thanks to the advice of others, I write my posts carefully to reduce mistakes. In addition, I learned a variety of writing skills.
   In brief, It was very helpful to improve English skills.

2) What have the comments I have posted on other blogs taught me about writing?

   Also, there are many good things that the comments I have posted on other blogs. 

   First, I read many informative posts, so I've got a lot of knowledge. Also, It was good to see many different opinions. Second, I learned various and good writing skills of others. I knew that there are so many people with great writing skills. 

    In short, it gave me motivation to learn English.

   Seoul has 3 factors which provide a good quality of night life.

   First of all, Seoul has convenient public transport at night. Subway and buses run until late at night. For example, 'N26' bus runs until 03:10 am. According to Seoul City’s research, average daily passengers of Seoul night bus service is nearly 6,000 people. Many people are using the late night bus service. In addition, there are many taxis even late at night. Second, Seoul has various spectacle in night. There are many vibrant entertainment districts at night like Hongik University and Myeongdong. For them, midnight is the busiest time of the day. Nice night view is also a good spectacle. Because palace is open at night, you can go there in the night. Palace of night is a magnificent sight that is incomparable to any other. If you go to www.royalpalace.go.kr, you can find a lot of information about opening at night of Gyeongbokgung. A night view of Seoul from Namsan and Han River is also beautiful. Third, there are many facilities of convenience available 24 hours a day. For example, If you want to watch a movie at night, you can go to the theater and watch the late-night movie. If you're hungry late at night, you can eat gimbap and ramen at Gimbap Heaven. Besides, there are many 24 hours facilities like sauna, cafe and karaoke.

   For these 3 reasons, Seoul is the perfect place for people who love to active at night.

"My Comfortable Study Room"

   My ideal study room is small and comfortable. There are some requirements for my ideal study room.

   First, It should not be too wide. Small size room give comfort to me. Room size will be about 10~15 square meter.
Second, It should not be too quiet. If it is too quiet, I can't concentrate well. Calm music will help me to concentrate.
The third is a simple interior. Room's wallpaper color is dark ivory color. It will give a relaxing feeling. And little furniture give simple and comfort feeling. There is one desk on the side of the room. On the other side is placed a bed.
Finally, I need a refrigerator filled with Coca-Cola (No Pepsi, only Coca-Cola). Cola makes me feel so good. It will help to Increase my concentration.

   In conclusion, small and simple room is the best place that I can concentrate well.

"How does where I live (have lived) influence how I live?" 

     I lived in Seoul since childhood. Seoul is a city that never sleeps. This characteristic of Seoul has influenced my lifestyle.

  First, we can use many convenient facilities late at night. If you get bored late at night, you can go to the theater or go to Internet cafes.
     Second, if you hungry late at night, you can go to restaurants [ex) Mcdonald, Gimbapheaven] and eat some food. If you don`t want to go out, also you can use delivery service at home.
  Third, the night view of Seoul is very cool. Daytime in Seoul is beautiful. But night in Seoul is also attractive. It is very good to go late at night to see the night view of Seoul.

  For these reasons, Seoul has influenced in my life, so I like to stay up late at night and like to work at night.
